Spice Research Center, one of the leading research centers of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute. This cantona is about 18km from the city of bogra. Mr. Shibganj is located on the north side of the historic Mahasthangarh in Raynagar union of the upazila. The total area of spice processing center is 28 hectares, of which cultivable land is 18 hectares where different types of spice crops are conducted. Various disciplines, such as horticulture, pesticide, plant pathology, soil science, plant reproduction, physiology, biotechnology, agricultural engineering and agricultural economics exist, with the help of different types of physiology, breeding methods, biotechnology, plant nutrition, irrigation, inter-care, seed Research on subjects related to production, disease and insect repression, post-harvest management and market methods etc. and the results of the study are spreading among farmers by the Department of Agricultural Extension . There are 3 (three) regional centers of this center (Gazipur, Magura and Comilla) and 5 (five) sub-centers (Lalmonirhat, Faridpur, Sylhet, Maulvi Bazar and Khagrachari). At present, research activities are being conducted on about 46 (forty six) domestic and foreign spice crops. The Spice Research Center has so far developed a total of 50 varieties on 24 spice crops and various sustainable technologies.
